Explore the anatomy of the human body as if you were a dissector in an anatomy laboratory.

AnatomyLab is the ideal software for the student of human anatomy, the medical professional, or, for that matter, anyone interested in the structure of their body. While there are many products that allow you to study drawings of the human body, there are very few that allow you to follow the dissection process of an actual human body and explore the amazing structure of the human form with beautiful, clear photographic images. Now with the power of the amazing iPhone and iPod touch technology you can study human anatomy like never before. AnatomyLab allows you to progress through numerous levels of dissection while labeling and studying the different anatomical structures. Easily rotate the cadaver into multiple views and zoom in or out to more clearly understand the relationships of any structure you are studying. Each of the structures that you can label is accompanied by text describing its structure and function. A search engine allows you to easily find any structure in the body and rapidly have an optimal view of it on the cadaver.

The goal of AnatomyLab is to inform and teach people about the wonderful machine called the human body. This is an outstanding study resource for students of human anatomy and an informative knowledge source for anyone interested in their body.

Pros and cons of AnatomyLab app for iPhone and iPad

AnatomyLab app good for

Excellent app! The pictures are crystal clear - you feel as if you are in the lab viewing an actual cadaver. Well worth the money!
This application is a top notch tool for anyone from medical student to experienced clinician. It takes you into the disection room with great diagrams and photos without the awful smells of embalming fluid. I would strongly recomend this application to my students as an ajunct to their hands-on lab work. A book with this content would cost at least ten times as much!
Excellent app for health care workers and students of anatomy! The images are beautifully clear and the user interface is excellent. As a primary care physician I find it an excellent reference...its probably not the app Im going to pull out to show patients the anatomy related to their presenting problem but thats not the purpose of it anyways. Wish list: cross-sectional anatomy would be a wonderful edition as would the Visible Human data set. 5 Stars!!!
Best app ive ever gotten. Its so cheap for wat u get. The zoom in button isnt the greatest to see the muscle fibers, but otherwise its crystal clear. I only wish it went all the way down to the skeletal level
Cant wait for upgrades for more detailed zoomed images and a female version will be a plus! The best money spend so far!
Im a medical professional whos been using my iPhone for a long while to assist in my day to day work. Many times I wish to show my patients a part of their body I just cant reference on the fly, this solves that problem in every way.

Some bad moments

This is more geared towards the itunes store rather than the application, but notice how it says it is compatible with the ipod touch and then says you need a more updated version of the *iphone* for compatibility?? Well, you need the updated version of the itouch too apparently.. Soo sad. I wanted this app!! Paid for it and it wont work. Great.
Between the low res, black and white, no back button, and the app constantly shutting down I guess its great! I hope youre taking our money and coming up with a 2.0!
I am very disappointed in this app! It only has very elementary muscle action/function. This app has little value for sports medicine and exercise physiology professionals. Integrated muscle function must be added for this app to be of value to me. So much potential here and I am sad to see it fall short! For example the Lats do much more then shoulder adduction and extension... How about internal rotation of the shoulder, increases stability of the LPHC and aids the glutes in the force closure mechanism of the lumbar spine.
Im a medical student taking gross anatomy right now. The body and dissection arent bad, but its not even close to the detail Im responsible for. You cant zoom in close enough or see all the the structures that are necessary to learn. For example, there is no way to learn the nerve plexuses in the mediastinum with this app. Nor could you zoom in close enough to view nerves and branching of vessels. If youre a proffesional student trying to learn anatomy...go with netters. Im disappointed with this purchase/application.
iTunes ate my longer review, so Ill just say that this app is cool, but not detailed enough for medical students. It looks like most of the positive reviews are coming from allied health people, so if you dont need to see fine structures like nerves or smaller blood vessels (eg vasa rectae, coronary ateries of the heart, etc), maybe it will do. Med students should just buy a good atlas.
I took anatomy from Mark Nielson in college and found his class the best anatomy instruction by far of all Ive taken (Im now a surgeon --so I know a little bit about anatomy and anatomy teaching). I am disappointed with the app over all. It is interesting but the level of detail is not sufficient for anyone who actually wants to study anatomy. The highest level of zoom is still frustratingly far away. This app is great for the casual user or morbidly curious, but not great for anyone who needs a working reference.
