AnatomyLab App Reviews

Awesome!

I think this is well worth the $10. I am a therapitic neuromuscular therapist and it offers an amazing resource for me and my clients at a moments notice!

Outstanding!

It would be nice to zoom in a little more to limit the number of observable anatomical points. Also, the touch sensitivity is a little too high for easy navigation. Overall, outstanding application.

Love it! Love it! Love it!

I am a nurse and can never learn enough about the human body. I can now carry around my own liitle personal cadaver and learn about it whenever I want!!! Love it! Isnt it time for a Female?!

Excellent application, but...

As a rehabilitation specialist, I can attest to the fact that this software is excellent for review of the musculoskeletal system. One major complaint: you need to be able to rotate the cadaver. This would give us a more 3D effect. Sagittal and coronal plane simply not good enough. Do this and its a 5 star app. Thank you increasing zoom, we still need more though, especially on areas like wrist extensor musculature.

Not impressed

Im a medical student taking gross anatomy right now. The body and dissection arent bad, but its not even close to the detail Im responsible for. You cant zoom in close enough or see all the the structures that are necessary to learn. For example, there is no way to learn the nerve plexuses in the mediastinum with this app. Nor could you zoom in close enough to view nerves and branching of vessels. If youre a proffesional student trying to learn anatomy...go with netters. Im disappointed with this purchase/application.

Not good enough

iTunes ate my longer review, so Ill just say that this app is cool, but not detailed enough for medical students. It looks like most of the positive reviews are coming from allied health people, so if you dont need to see fine structures like nerves or smaller blood vessels (eg vasa rectae, coronary ateries of the heart, etc), maybe it will do. Med students should just buy a good atlas.

Great app for undergraduate A&P students

I used this app to refresh my memory of the muscles and to quikly point out muscles to students. Since all refs do not have the same O/I/A/Inn info, it was terrific that each structure had its own notes section so I could enter info from our text. The ability to "scroll" through layers is invaluable. Unfortunately the touch sensitivity is such that it doesnt always discriminate well between one and two finger swipes. It would be really nice if that could be fixed, as I find myself sliding the cadaver around instead of rotating it, which can be frustrating in a time crunch. Overall, an excellent app. I will recommend it to my students who have iPhones or iPods.

Disappointed

I took anatomy from Mark Nielson in college and found his class the best anatomy instruction by far of all Ive taken (Im now a surgeon --so I know a little bit about anatomy and anatomy teaching). I am disappointed with the app over all. It is interesting but the level of detail is not sufficient for anyone who actually wants to study anatomy. The highest level of zoom is still frustratingly far away. This app is great for the casual user or morbidly curious, but not great for anyone who needs a working reference.

Not too technical, but enough information for patient education.

I actually took an anatomy class from the professors that put this application together. Realistically, you cant buy a good cadaver book for $10.00. This will be wonderful tool to use with my patients for their education. I think its great!

anatomy lab

Its really creepy. I thought it would be a good reference, but honestly the dead guy on my iphone just creeps me out. I would never show it to a patient. I hate to open it. Maybe if the face was blurred out...

Only has male anatomy...

Im an anatomy student and I thought this would be perfect. It has helped with basic body parts that I didnt want to look in my book for but it does not have an option to view a female. I cant look up the female reproductive system or compare the two cadavers. The highlighting of organs isnt alway good, especially with the liver. Not really with $10. If it updates the features that people are looking for then it would be close to perfect.

Fast, Easy, and Accessible

Pretty much exactly what the title says. I am a student and soon to be Forensics Lab technition who was looking for a quick and easy reference guide for present and future lab work, and I must say I have at least found the COMPANY I will be trusting my money with. I say that because while this app is phenomenal, it is missing the skeletal structures and I would appreciate a better look at the nervous system as well as the lymphatic system, BUT all in all I am extremely impressed, and am looking forward to the MyBody app releasing soon!

I really like the app.

Great app. Please work on increasing the resolution for iPad though. Always works well for me with few if any crashes.

Sort of Ok

For the bare basics, this is not a bad app., but not having the horizontal view and better magnification is a big drawback. It is done tastefully, but the selection process is cumber sum and there is no save view function. If you are looking for the bare basics and dont mind a vertical view only, this is on OK choice.

Good-ish not great

I just bought this based on some of the comments and the pics provided. I expected it to have more. Theres only 1 cadaver, but I knew that when I bought it. The app needs more thing to go along with the 1 cadaver, like some illustrations or some clinical info ( yes I understands its just anatomy not physiology) ALONG with the 1 cadaver. Buy it if you just want to look at it.

KEEPS CRASHING! PLEASE FIX!!

I bought this app, as my teacher recommended. We use this exact program in class (same guy and everything). I really think it will help with my finals. However, it has crashed 4 times within 10 minutes!!! PLEASE FIX THAT!! How can I study if it keeps crashing?! Other then that, great!!

poor quality and not for med students

if u r in medical school, keep looking or get VH Dissector. this app is middle school level in structures.
