AnatomyLab App Reviews

Like being in the lab

Excellent app! The pictures are crystal clear - you feel as if you are in the lab viewing an actual cadaver. Well worth the money!

compatibility

This is more geared towards the itunes store rather than the application, but notice how it says it is compatible with the ipod touch and then says you need a more updated version of the *iphone* for compatibility?? Well, you need the updated version of the itouch too apparently.. Soo sad. I wanted this app!! Paid for it and it wont work. Great.

Emergency.Consultant

This application is a top notch tool for anyone from medical student to experienced clinician. It takes you into the disection room with great diagrams and photos without the awful smells of embalming fluid. I would strongly recomend this application to my students as an ajunct to their hands-on lab work. A book with this content would cost at least ten times as much!

Just like medical school!

Excellent app for health care workers and students of anatomy! The images are beautifully clear and the user interface is excellent. As a primary care physician I find it an excellent reference...its probably not the app Im going to pull out to show patients the anatomy related to their presenting problem but thats not the purpose of it anyways. Wish list: cross-sectional anatomy would be a wonderful edition as would the Visible Human data set. 5 Stars!!!

Great product!

Please complete it by adding female structures as well.

Amazing!

Great tool for studying anatomy

Amazing!

Best app ive ever gotten. Its so cheap for wat u get. The zoom in button isnt the greatest to see the muscle fibers, but otherwise its crystal clear. I only wish it went all the way down to the skeletal level

Great! The best anatomy app so far!

Cant wait for upgrades for more detailed zoomed images and a female version will be a plus! The best money spend so far!

Amazing ap but low res images

This ap is amazing - the ONLY issue is the low def images - I wish they were higher res, Id be more than welling to pay more then Otherwise if you just want it for bigger muscles then its good - things such as the iliocastalis, lagimitis and spinatus muscles, theyre very hard to click and distinguish

Very good, but very disappointed (v1.2.3)

The whole idea for serious anatomy is to see clear images. Higher res and close up shots would really help. Upgrade these and 5 stars should not be a problem. $9.99 is a little steep for an app of this quality and no upgrades in months??

Anatomy lab

Not for surgeons

Not worth $10

Between the low res, black and white, no back button, and the app constantly shutting down I guess its great! I hope youre taking our money and coming up with a 2.0!

It Delivers As Promised

Im a medical professional whos been using my iPhone for a long while to assist in my day to day work. Many times I wish to show my patients a part of their body I just cant reference on the fly, this solves that problem in every way.

Best Anatomy Application

I have purchased many anatomy applications prior to this one and by far this is the BEST! I took anatomy from Mark and this is exactly like being in the anatomy lab. You see everything and the neatest aspect is you can dissect layer by layer of muscles and other tissues. I love this app and will use it for a reference whenever I need to review or show others the magnificent human body. I highly recommend this app to anyone who loves studying the human body.

Poor muscle action description

I am very disappointed in this app! It only has very elementary muscle action/function. This app has little value for sports medicine and exercise physiology professionals. Integrated muscle function must be added for this app to be of value to me. So much potential here and I am sad to see it fall short! For example the Lats do much more then shoulder adduction and extension... How about internal rotation of the shoulder, increases stability of the LPHC and aids the glutes in the force closure mechanism of the lumbar spine.

Fantastic!

An absolutely remarkable app that allows you to virtually dissect--layer by layer!--an actual human cadaver. Rather than overlay a distracting web of callout lines and labels the way most anatomies do, this lets you simply tap any part of the body, and it will be highlighted and information about it made available. You can even add your own notes on any structure--invaluable for students! Search functions let you quickly locate any structure of interest. Altogether a superb job. By the way, be sure to view the Flash tutorial on the makers website; its very helpful in familiarizing yourself with the apps many capabilities.

Great App

Very nice, flexible and easy to use interface. Really like the multiple ways to find a specific item. Great for a version 1.0. A couple of suggestions. - Allow the use of alternate colors for highlighting the selected item on the body. Sometimes it is very difficult to see what is selected because the highlight color is so similar to the selected items color--epecially at 1am. :) - Difficult to select some fine/thin/small items on the body. Maybe allow a pop-up magnifying glass or allow deeper zooming. - Add separate female or limited/reduced female unique areas with layering focused on needed female anatomy--need more then just a man. - More detailed layering on head and face, hands and fingers, feet and toes, knees and shoulders. Maybe have close-up window for these more Intricate areas.

Needs better controls and interface

The program itself is in a class of its own. For my needs, the content is sufficient about 80% of the time. On occasion, youd notice that some important anatomical part is missing from the database. I believe the inadequacy of the magnification may be to blame. In other words, you know a small part is there, but you cannot zoom into that structure enough for the program to identify it or for you to even select it. Therein lies the problem. If you expect small anatomical parts-- bursae, tendons, nerves, small joints, ligaments-- to be identified then you might be disappointed. (this was mentioned by another reviewer) I hope they have an increased magnification capability next version around. Some things that might improve an otherwise good program: 1. Easier way of selecting structures-- Sometimes I do need to tap on the screen several times to highlight the structure of interest. Again, more magnification might help. 2. Some ability to lock the cadaver in place so that you can 3-finger swipe up and down without dragging the cadaver with your fingertips. 3. Maybe some nitpicking, but there is too much momentum when you drag the cadaver around. Making the motion sticky might be better for this type of application which relies on the person to look at details and not big swaths of information. 4. Different colors for arteries, veins, nerves, connective tissue/bone, bursae, and muscles would be great for better visualization of different overlying structures. The rest of the controls are intuitive and easy to use. For 10 bucks, this is a very good price for the features. Id pay extra to see the improvements Ive mentioned.

Amazing App

To pay just 9.99 for this amount of information is amazing. I congratulate the developers and look forward to future projects. This app is user friendly and a quick resource for those of us in the medical field. I really dont have any criticism. I agree with a few of the other comments, including the ability to lock the image (to allow easier dissection through the levels), greater zoom capability, and I would love to have cross referencing with CT and MR imaging. A similar app for neuroanatomy would also be awesome. Thanks again.
